Creative Writing at CSU
Students in the Creative Writing track take part in a number of fun and rewarding literary activities while working toward a BA/English with a concentration in creative writing. The track's courses include workshops in fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting, and playwriting. Our student-run literary journal, Arden, won best undergraduate literary magazine at the 2009 Southern Literary Festival, and our involvement in the Georgia Poetry Circuit brings renowned writers such as Robert Morgan, Kelly Cherry, and Andrew Hudgins to our campus. Many of our students are involved in the Creative Writing Club, which organizes student readings and poetry slams during the fall and spring semesters. Finally, students have the opportunity to pursue study abroad and study in the New York Comparative Arts program. The Creative Writing Track is an excellent option for students hoping to build careers in writing, teach in secondary education, and pursue creative writing at the graduate level.
